Two coding tools can use similar underlying models and still feel completely different in speed. Raw model latency is only part of the story.
A large share of perceived slowness comes from context assembly: tools that re-read your entire open file (or worse, your whole repository) on every keystroke will feel sluggish even with a fast model underneath.
The other major factor is UI feedback. A tool that shows a subtle inline loading state the instant you pause typing feels faster than one that shows nothing until the full suggestion is ready, even if the actual response time is identical.
